Slow Cooker & Crock Pot Recipes

 


Baked Ham

Wrap precooked ham in foil and place in crock pot or slow cooker. Cover and cook on high 1 hour, then low 6-7 hours.


Barbecue Ribs

3 pounds spareribs
salt and pepper
1 onion sliced
1 16-ounce bottle barbecue sauce

Sprinkle ribs with salt and pepper. Place ribs in broiler pan under broiler for 30 minutes to brown. Put sliced onion in crock pot or slow cooker. Slice ribs into serving pieces and put in crock pot or slow cooker. Pour in barbecue sauce. Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours or high 4-5 hours.


Chicken Lickin Good Pork Chops

6-8 lean pork chops, 1" thick          
1/2 C. flour                                        
1 T. salt
1 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. garlic powder 
2 T. oil                                              
1 can chicken and rice soup

Dredge pork chops in mixture of flour, salt, dry mustard and garlic powder. Brown in oil in large skillet. Place browned pork chops in slow cooker. Add can of soup. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours (high 3 1/2 hours.) ***To make more of a rice side dish I like to add a can of chicken broth and about a cup of minute rice.***


Easy Potatoes

1 bag frozen hash browns
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 pt. sour cream
1 stick butter or margarine
1/4 to 1/2 C. onion
1 small box Velveeta cheese

Put first 4 ingredients in slow cooker and mix together. Add butter (cut up), onions (chopped) and Velveeta cheese (cut up). Mix all together and cover. Cook on high for 2 hours, then on low for 1 1/2 to 2 more hours.


Hearty Beef Stew

2 pounds stew meat, thinly sliced
5 carrots, sliced
1 large onion diced
3 stalks celery, sliced
1 28-ounce can tomatoes
1/2 C. quick-cooking tapioca
2 bay leaves
Salt & Pepper to taste

Trim all fat from meat. Put all ingredients in slow cooker or crock pot. Mix well. Cover and cook on low 10-12 hours or on high 5-6 hours.


Macaroni & Cheese

1 8-ounce pkg. macaroni, cooked and drained
2 TBSP oil
1 13-ounce can evaporated milk
1 1/2 C. milk
1 tsp. salt
3 C. shredded cheese (use your favorite cheese)
1/4 C. melted butter
2 TBSP minced onion

Toss cooked macaroni in 2 TBSP oil. Add all remaining ingredients. Pour into lightly greased crock pot or slow cooker. Stir. Cover and cook on low 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally.


Meat Loaf

2 pounds ground beef
1/2 C. green pepper, chopped
1/2 C. onion, chopped
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 C. cracker crumbs
1 egg
1 packet brown gravy mix
1 C. milk
6-8 small peeled potatoes, cut up

Mix all ingredients, except potatoes. Shape into a loaf. Place in crock pot or slow cooker. Place potatoes on the sides of loaf. Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours or high 4-6 hours.


Swiss Steak

1 1/2 pounds round steak, cut 3/4" thick
2 TBS flour
salt and pepper to taste
1 medium onion
1 carrot, chopped
1 small stalk of celery, chopped
1 15-ounce can tomato sauce

Cut steak into serving pieces. Season flour with salt and pepper. Dredge meat in seasoned flour. Place onions in bottom of crock pot or slow cooker, add meat. Top with carrots and celery and cover with tomato sauce. Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours or high 3-5 hours.
